Welcome back to another Tumblr Tuesday!
— A not-so-subtle gag from The Amazing World of Gumball emphasizes its brilliance:
— Did I compare Breaking Bad with Sly Cooper? Hell yes I did:
— The endless RTD/Moffat and Rose/Amy debate over Dr. Who continues:
— Fairly Oddparents in its prime break down animation styles way before Futurama made it cool:
— What we all were thinking on Nickelodeon’s World Wide Day of Play:
— And using maths to delve into the superiority of square doughnuts:
After a two-week hiatus, Tumblr Tuesday is back! Not a ton of stuff, but there’s a few goodies:
— I wrote a little about the DC Comics contest concerning a suicidal Harley Quinn:
— I hate Makorra. The season premiere of The Legend of Korra only solidified my hate:
— Speaking of which, two gifs from Avatar depict the “humor” in that show’s fight sequences that Legend of Korra’s action sorely lacks:
— A link to a link satirizing the “brooding male anti-hero” that dots the landscape of television’s Golden Age:
— And 16-bit versions of modern 3D games, and they look awesome:
As Reddit and some Facebook friends predicted, Miss Piggy won the Great Pig-Off of 2013! She swept through her opponents, crushing Piglet, Colonel Spigot, and Porky with ease. She then stared down Waddles into his fat, pudgy, adorable face, and claimed her victory with ease.
I want to thank everyone who took the time to vote, along with all the likes, favorites, shared, retweets and other social media buzzwords that you can do with a project like this. I actually enjoyed putting this feature together, although it was tricky to keep up with the schedule, especially when work started to really pressing down on me. I’m hoping to put together another similar contest a few months down the line, but first I need to figure out a list of creatures to bracket. We shall see.
Thanks again, and congrats to Miss Piggy! It’s no marriage to Kermit, but it is a huge achievement!
